Last night’s Grammy Awards was one of the best awards shows in a lonnnnng time. It checked all the boxes with historic and modern legends abound and Trevor Noah pulling off an impeccable hosting job. (Golden Globes and Academy, take note.)
And what a history-making night for Taylor Swift breaking the record for the most Album of the Year awards. With so many conspiracy theories swirling around about her, here’s what the real story is. In her acceptance speech, she gave away the secret to the law of attraction:
I would love to tell you that this is the best moment of my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love or when I’m shotlisting a music video or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show. For me, the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy.
This is how you succeed. You don’t focus on the big moment, the accolades, the win, the awards— it’s the energy that goes into each step that matters.
Now I’m not saying hard work and grit and thinking about that sweet moment when it all comes together isn’t important, it is. But it’s gotta be in something you love doing, day in and day out. That’s the formula for success.
Alright now I gotta segue and talk about the Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs duet. Can we have more of this unity in the world, please. We all needed that moment 🙌
And speaking of manifesting, I think Fast Car may have singlehandedly helped me manifest where I am today. I mean, I probably wouldn’t be working at a convenience store otherwise, but yea, it gave me that feeling “that I could be someone, be someone, be someone.”
Who else from my era was inspired by those lyrics growing up? Perhaps it’s been the secret behind Gen X manifestors.
Millennials and Gen Z, what’s your generational anthem?
Another inspiring newsletter. Loved the fast car song. A classic.
Hope: I want to be happily creating what I love most. Inspiring creators and entertainers give me hope ... that I can be the fullest extent of myself (whether I'm 'someone,' 'someone,' 'someone' or driving myself through the fog and rain toward an adventure of expansiveness. Thanks Tisha for your illuminating expression of why we take pause with gratitude & celebration to actions that make us happy. I applaud all the creators.
